Instead, you can only differentiate it with the build number on the app. Also, everything is tied to a single central account where you manage subscriptions, downloads, and settings. With the 2025 update, Bitdefender Central is still the only place to get the installer, but it provides only the lightweight online installer file.
That installer always installs the Bitdefender Agent first and then downloads the rest of the product online. The same Agent is also required when you use the offline installer. In that case, we have a fix for the offline installer. For many users, having a full offline package is much more reliable. It speeds up reinstallations and helps if you’re on a slow or unstable connection.
To avoid confusion, I will refer to the current edition as the Bitdefender 2025 release. In this guide, you’ll find direct Bitdefender offline installer links for Total Security, which is the only version officially available as a standalone package. Step 1: Download Offline Installer

Bitdefender French / Spanish / Multi-lingual Installer
If you are searching for French, Spanish, Dutch, etc. versions of the Bitdefender offline installer, then look no further. The above installer files have the option for installation in 21 languages. Hence, all you have to do is select your language and proceed with the installation.
The Bitdefender Agent automatically detects your operating system, whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit. Then, it installs the correct Bitdefender product version based on your subscription.
Step 2: How to Install
Time needed: about 5 to 10 minutes after the download.
You’ll need: your Bitdefender Central login ready (email and password).
- Uninstall the old Bitdefender
Use the official Bitdefender Removal Tool, then restart your PC. The restart clears leftover drivers. Skipping it often triggers odd errors later. - Go offline
Disconnect Wi-Fi or unplug the cable. Stay offline until the installer finishes. - Run the offline installer
Right-click the file and choose Run as administrator. The Bitdefender Agent installs first, then the product files. - Reconnect the internet
Once the setup finishes, make sure you're connected to the internet before the Bitdefender Central login screen appears.

Step 3: Fix Errors
Error: Setup cannot continue as Bitdefender Agent is missing from your device.
This message means the offline installer won’t proceed until the Bitdefender Agent is already present. Here’s how to fix it:
- Download the small online installer for Bitdefender Total Security (about 18 MB)
- Run it once to install the Bitdefender Agent.
- As soon as you see it starting to download the full product files, close it.
- Or disconnect your internet connection before running. The Agent will install, but the product download will fail; that’s expected.
- Confirm the Agent is running.
Open Task Manager: look for Bitdefender Agent (32-bit). If you see it, the requirement is satisfied. - Now run the offline installer.
This time, the installation continues normally. Since the Agent is already in place, the product files install directly from the large offline package.

Q: My Central account has Internet Security or Antivirus Plus, but I installed Total Security. Is that a problem?
A: No. After you sign in to Central, Bitdefender detects your subscription and automatically switches the app to the correct product. You do not need to reinstall.

The setup still requires the Bitdefender Agent. If the Agent isn’t already on your system, you need to place it first using the small web installer. Once that is in place, the offline kit installs the main product files from the package instead of streaming them online.
After installation, the product cannot be used until it connects to the Internet once. The Bitdefender application must reach your central account to load your subscription and activate the license. Without this step, the app will not function.
Another nuance is that the offline installer is only available for Bitdefender Total Security. If your Central subscription is for Internet Security or Antivirus Plus, the app will automatically switch to the correct product after you sign in.
Finally, even with the offline kit, you still need to update Bitdefender after installation. The package gives you the full base app, but virus definitions and security patches are refreshed online. The update size depends on how old the offline build is, though in my recent tests, I found the process was quick.
Tip: Always check your OS type (32-bit or 64-bit) before downloading. The offline kit won’t auto-detect this like the web installer does.

I want to really thank you for this. Upon updating to 2022, the official installer would forever hang at 79%. I used the official removal tool. I used third party software to try and remove leftover files and registry entries. Nothing would work. Then I tried the installer linked here and it completed successfully.
“There will be no Bitdefender offline Installer kits”… I can’t understand why. Obviously they lived in 2030 while I was in 2016… and it seems I live yet in 2016.

Thanks for the Bitdefender offline downloader. I was unable to download the trial from Bitdefender Central. The installer was getting stuck every time I was trying to install it. I was ready to give up on Bitdefender when accidently I stumbled upon this article on Google. With the offline installer, the application installed on the first attempt. Phew what a relief. I wonder why is Bitdefender not providing this file on their guides!
